Ms. Feyona Daley
Project Coordinator- Sickle CHARTA UK

A dedicated Sickle Cell advocate and active member of the Sickle Cell Society, committed to raising awareness, providing education, and dispelling myths surrounding Sickle Cell disease. Through her involvement with the Give-Blood-Spread-Love project and the African and Caribbean Leukemia Trust, she highlights the challenges of living with Sickle Cell while emphasizing the critical need for blood, stem cell, and organ donations. Feyona’s advocacy extends to hospital visits, offering support to fellow patients, providing guidance through phone consultations, and sharing valuable information from her support group.

She also assists others in establishing similar support networks and effectively utilizes social media and other platforms to reach a broader audience. For the past eleven months, Feyona has volunteered with the Imperial Sickle Cell Group and currently serves as the Interim Coordinator for the Sickle Cell Alliance under CHARTA (Coordination, Health, Advocacy, Research, and Training in Africa). CHARTA is a collaborative initiative involving Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), Imperial College London, Tanzania UK Health Diaspora Alliance (TUHEDA), and the Tanzania Academy of Sciences (TAAS). Trained as a Community Facilitator, Feyona played an instrumental role in the Building Trust Listening event for Sickle Cell, part of an ongoing initiative by the Hammersmith and Fulham Council. Her expertise led to an invitation to join the Northwest London ICB African and Caribbean Think Tank, where she contributes to efforts addressing health inequalities within these communities. Additionally, she completed Participatory Appraisals training with the Brent African Caribbean Alliance (BACA) to facilitate focus groups across the borough and surrounding areas. Feyona is actively engaged in policy advocacy, regularly attending All-Party Parliamentary Group meetings on Sickle Cell and Thalassemia, Ethnicity Transplantation and Transfusion, as well as Stem Cell Transplantation and Advanced Cellular Therapies. She actively networks with like-minded individuals to advance treatment and care for Sickle Cell patients, driven by her commitment to fostering positive change.
